Melissa 'Thyme' Monroe is a Cuban multimedia artist, musician, and filmmaker hailing from Miami. A well-versed musician in many instruments and styles, she has produced upwards of a hundred musical releases since her artistic beginnings in the mid-2010s.
She is a queer woman, a cat, the proud wife of her loving husband, an advocate for liberation of many forms, and is aligned with many countercultural movements of both past and present. As a furry, she is interested in the community's intersectionality between sexuality, gender, and species, especially in furry artwork and political rhetoric.
She has particular interest in the total abolition of aggressive social narratives revolving around drugs, queerness, race, and identity. In the underground punk scene within Miami, her zines are common staples. Ramshackle and collaged in nature, they are often extremely blunt about the current fascist paradigms haunting the city and the country at large.
In 2026, Melissa and her partner moved to Denver, Colorado.
Melissa uses she/her & they/them pronouns, often interchangeably. In formal conversation, her name may be shortened to 'Mrs. Monroe' or 'Mx. Monroe'.
